FAQ
To help prepare for your visit, please review the following recommendations:
Complete the Initial Intake Form: If this is your first visit, please fill out the intake form emailed to you to streamline your check-in.
Eat Lightly: Do not arrive on an empty stomach, but avoid large, heavy meals.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before your appointment.
Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol: These can affect your body’s energy and sensitivity levels.
Avoid Brushing Your Tongue or Eating Staining Foods: Avoid coffee, turmeric, berries, or candies, as these can interfere with tongue diagnosis.
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Loose sleeves and pants allow easier access to acupuncture points.
Skip Strenuous Exercise: Avoid intense physical activity immediately before your appointment.
Bring a List of Medications/Supplements: This helps your practitioner understand your full health profile.
Rest and Take It Easy: Your body needs time to integrate the treatment.
Stay Hydrated: Water supports circulation and detoxification.
Eat Nourishing, Warm Foods: Light meals are ideal; avoid greasy or processed foods.
Avoid Wind and Cold Exposure: Keep your neck and back covered, especially after cupping.
Wait 2–3 Hours Before Bathing: This is particularly important if you received cupping or moxibustion.
Avoid Alcohol, Caffeine, and Smoking: These can counteract the healing effects of the session.
Skip Heavy Exercise: Give your body a break for the rest of the day.
Pay Attention to Your Body: Mild fatigue or emotional shifts are normal after-effects.
Fasting: We may not be able to perform treatment if you have not eaten. Acupuncture on an empty stomach can cause fainting or other side effects. Please ensure you have a light meal beforehand.
Menstruation: We generally recommend avoiding treatment during your menstrual cycle unless you are seeking relief for acute or menstrual-related symptoms. While we can still perform acupuncture during your menses, certain modalities like moxibustion or the number of needles used may be limited.

Dry Needling: Focuses specifically on muscles and is highly effective for muscle stiffness, tight knots in the upper back or shoulders, and general muscle soreness.
Acupuncture: Treats the body as a whole, focusing on internal balance as well as local symptoms. An acupuncture session may include dry needling depending on your condition. For pain caused by injuries, we generally recommend a full acupuncture session.
We do not offer herbal therapy at this time. However, for certain conditions, we may prescribe gentle supplements. If you are seeking comprehensive herbal therapy, we recommend contacting a clinic that specializes in that service.
At our clinic, we provide acupuncture treatment for fertility. If you are interested in combining acupuncture with herbal therapy, which can be more effective, we recommend seeking a clinic that specializes in both treatments.
Pain Management:
In most cases, patients feel improvement after the first session. For the few who do not experience immediate relief, we may adjust the treatment protocol for the second visit, which often leads to significant improvement. If there is still no change, we will advise if acupuncture is the best fit for your needs.
Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:
For acute cases, such as a flu or a sudden skin flare-up, patients typically feel better after one visit. Chronic conditions generally require more sessions to achieve visible results.
Lab-Related Conditions:
For conditions like high blood pressure, blood sugar, or high cholesterol, multiple sessions are necessary. We typically recommend ten weekly sessions, followed by monthly maintenance. The frequency of visits usually decreases after the initial ten sessions.
Facial Acupuncture:
For optimal results, we recommend ten sessions over five weeks, followed by weekly treatments. Maintenance then moves to one or two sessions per month. Frequent sessions are required initially, with the frequency decreasing over time.
Please note that these recommendations are based on trends observed at our clinic and do not guarantee specific results.
