Minor Consent Policy at One Med Acupuncture & Wellness Inc.
Understanding Consent for Patients Under 18 in California
At One Med Acupuncture & Wellness Inc., we are committed to providing safe, confidential, and effective care to all our patients, including minors. California law allows minors aged 12 and older to consent to acupuncture treatment for any condition without needing parental or guardian permission.

What Does This Mean for You and Your Child?
-
Patients aged 12 and older can independently decide to receive acupuncture and related treatments.
-
Our licensed acupuncturists will ensure that all patients, including minors, understand the treatment process, risks, benefits, and alternatives before consenting.
-
We respect the confidentiality of minor patients aged 12 and above, meaning that their health information is private unless disclosure is required by law or if safety concerns arise.
-
Guardians are encouraged to support their child’s health care but are not required to provide consent for acupuncture treatment if the patient is 12 or older.

For Guardians of Patients Under 12
Parents or legal guardians must provide consent for patients under 12 years old before treatment. We strive to make sure parents are fully informed about their child’s care and welcome any questions or concerns.

Our Commitment to Transparent and Respectful Care
Our goal is to provide personalized, respectful care tailored to each patient’s needs while following California state laws. If you have any questions about consent, treatment, or our policies, please contact us at:
